Let's try this again
OK so as you can tell that went really well, so we are going to try it again. No really I mean it this time, so here it goes.
I have really been inspired lately to try and keep a log of our daily things around here, well maybe we will shoot for weekly and not push our luck at first, seeing how well it went the last time we tried to do this. So here is what we have been up to as of lately.........
BUGS, BUGS, BUGS, and more BUGS
The kids got a bug really cute little bug catching kit from some friends of ours that came to visit us recently while they were on vacation. It has nets and then a little "bug house" to house your finds in. They have since spent hours catching everything from flies in the house, to bees, ladybugs, butterflies, and moths outside, or anything else that happens to fly or scurry past them. They have all had great fun with this and mom is happy that there are less flies in the house!!
4th Of July!!
As most of you know the 4th is also Byron's birthday. (Just a little funny/cute fact he used to think growing up that all of the fireworks and other festivities were just for him on his birthday.) So we normally do a little extra to celebrate his day too. This year we started our day by going to the Saratoga parade. The kids had a blast catching all of their candy in a bug net, and Korbyn had a great time trying to eat the flag that someone gave him.
We then headed out to the lake. The kids had a great time splashing and playing in the water. They even found some shells which they of course stored in the bug net, that is until they decided to try and catch the little fish in it(which we never could do).
A friend of ours let us borrow his boat and we had a great time on the tubes. Byron even learned how to drive, and had a great and successful time throwing me off the tube into the water, but not before I had flown ten feet into the air first (OK maybe ten is a bit much but it felt like it). We had a BBQ and had a great time. So much so that Hailey has decided that this is what she wants to do at the end of the month for her birthday.
We ended our day at the park watching the fire work show, which unfortunately was somewhat disappointing, but it was still fun to get to see all of the neat colors and patterns. And the kids had a FULL day of fun.
We had a great time celebrating two things we absolutely love our daddy and our country!
